Changing lives in Croydon
The Kinetic Academy is a Croydon based charity, helping young people achieve their potential through football based programmes. Their mission is to decrease unemployment rates and improve the prospects of young people in the local area.
Through intensive support and specialised activities, local youths can develop vital social and educational skills. The Kinetic Academy supports local young people to achieve qualifications and become mature and responsible members of society.
The full-time academy
The full-time programme is a scholarship for talented young footballers. Students on the programme study physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation, and football training.
Former graduates of the programme have been offered university places, secured jobs, and signed contracts with professional football teams. All the programmes at the Kinetic Academy help children in Croydon out of poverty into a life they truly deserve.
Building community links
In Croydon, 20% of under 16s are living in poverty. GCSE results are well below the national average, and childhood obesity is an increasing problem.
